🍽 Update on fasting and eating less 🍽
It is still interesting what happens every day. I am becoming more aware of what my body feels and experiences after eating. I am also gaining more insight into my food stimuli. These now mainly occur when I suddenly experience some tiredness or at times when I always eat. And sometimes they also just come super randomly. These stimuli disappear when I acknowledge them and just let them be there. Such a stimulus does not mean that you have to do something with it. I also notice what unhealthy food does to my body. Last weekend was sweet Rafa's birthday and Sunday started with cake and fries. Super tasty of course and then I just eat along. It also felt good and I ate it with love. With the result that I did not feel guilty or down after that meal. What I did experience was that my body immediately gave a signal. It will not surprise you that after a week of intermittent and fasting the whole day, I immediately had intestinal problems the next day.
😼 Fitter and more vital by eating less 💪🏼
I also experience fatigue when I eat unhealthy and a lot of sugar. My body doesn't like that anymore. Just like when I suddenly haven't eaten dairy and eggs for almost two weeks. I'm not saying that I'll never eat that again, but I notice that the desire is not there now. Last Monday and Tuesday I did intermittent fasting again and yesterday I fasted for 24 hours again. I simply feel a lot lighter, more enthusiastic, fitter, more vital and healthier with this new eating pattern. Today I decided to add breakfast to it again. I notice that there is resistance to that. I actually don't want to eat breakfast, but I feel that it is part of the process. Experiencing what this does to my energy this morning and what effect it has on the rest of the day. And then fasting for 24 hours again tonight after dinner.
🥦 Be the boss of your own body 🥦
I also notice now that I am becoming more enthusiastic about this process. Last week there were still doubts. Now I feel that I am in charge. I am the boss of my body. It is also really cool to experience how I can just do everything all day long with good energy. Even training goes with the same strength and fitness. I never expected that. I always believed that I needed food to feel full of energy. But what a joke that is. Now I notice that eating costs me energy. And with that I am not saying that all food costs you energy, because I have not done any research on that. What I do experience is that my body at least gives away energy when I eat a lot. Yesterday after fasting and then dinner also resulted in a lower energy level. Which I was then able to bring back into balance with meditation and rest. Also interesting by the way!
Week in NL
Next week there is a new challenge on the program. Then Robert and I will be in the Netherlands for a week for appointments, podcasts and we will also see our family for a day. Really looking forward to it and that will really be a fantastic week. That also means cooking for myself and getting healthy food in the house. Staying healthy, fit and vital. Here at Terra Nova that is easy. Fantastic food is made there every day and I don't have to think about it any further. And when I cook myself, there are all kinds of healthy ingredients in the house that are each and every one nutritious. So how does that work in the Netherlands? My intention is to continue with intermittent fasting that week.
Chicken with rice 🍚
As you may have read, it is a very interesting process for me. If you consider that a year ago I still ate chicken or minced meat with rice 6 times a day. I ate so much meat every day. That in combination with an unhealthy lifestyle next to it. That is why I think I can say and feel that I can be proud of this. And that I can also be kind to myself if I just eat more during the day.
